About Me

As a full-stack developer, I have a strong passion for technology, problem-solving, and continuous learning and have recently been engaged in Chingu’s collaborative coding project, where I gained experience in agile methodologies, Git, and GitHub.

I am also currently a mentee of the Cajigo 100 Women in Tech Accelerator Programme where I was selected out of hundreds of applicants.

I have experience with various technologies, including JavaScript, React.js, Python, and I am currently learning C# and unit testing. I've also developed strong soft skills over my professional career, such as time management, communication, and team leadership.

I've created full-stack web applications where I have gained experience in creating wireframes, implementing authentication and ensuring responsive designs.

My experience as a teacher and teaching assistant has instilled adaptability, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. With a background in both software engineering and education, I bring together technical know-how and strong interpersonal skills. I'm excited to bring my skills and experiences to a company that values growth and learning.

SEI Project 1 - Frogger

HTML | CSS | JavaScript

I created a grid based game using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I decided to make a Lord of the Rings inspired Frogger game. This helped to further my knowledge and ability to use JavaScript and it was a good way to see how all these languages could come together.

SEI Project 2 - Ultimate Trivia Quiz

I built a React app which used an external API. This gave me a good basis for working with APIs and how they function, leading into building my own in the following module. I used a Trivia API and created a quiz with a random quiz page, categories and an option to create your own quiz by selecting your favourite questions.

SEI Project 3 - Design My Trip

I contributed to the development of a MERN full stack travel app with CRUD functionality. My responsibilities included implementing authentication and working on the userController, specifically adding register and login endpoints on the backend. On the frontend, I developed the individual country page that provided users with the ability to view, add, and update activities within the page. Additionally, users were able to add activities to their itinerary.

SEI Project 4 - Pawsome Dining

I built a full stack web application, which allows users to search for dog-friendly restaurants in a particular city. The backend of the project was built using Python and Django, while the frontend was built using React, with additional styling implemented through React-Bootstrap and SASS. The application includes a search function on the homepage, as well as an 'All Restaurants' page and a 'My Favourites' page.

Interests

Singing

I have a love of classical singing and have performed at many public and private events. I have also been a member of an amateur opera society in London where I took part in a rendition of the opera Romeo and Juliet. My greatest highlight has to be singing at the Pawscars in front of several hundred people, which is a yearly awards ceremony before Crufts each year, and being invited back several years in a row.

Skiing

I fell in love with skiing at a young age, and have been skiing most years since. I often visit my dad in Italy during the ski season and a few years ago, I got to spend a whole season there, skiing almost every weekend.
